BLT Pasta Salad

After a long, sweaty day spent in sweltering 95 degree heat, I had zero motivation to make dinner. But there were 5 hungry people depending on me to feed them. And I was pretty hungry myself. So I made the only possible decision when a quick and cool dinner was called for.

You guessed it…pasta salad.

This BLT Pasta Salad is a variation of my Chicken Ranch pasta salad. I have never made a pasta salad with lettuce in it before, but it just sounded so good. And it turned out really delicious, so I’ll definitely be doing it again. There is one common sense tip I want to share though – if you’re making your pasta salad Stolen Moments style, wait to add the lettuce until just before serving, unless you like limp lettuce.

BLT Pasta Salad

  • 1 lb. rotini (or other pasta shape), cooked and rinsed in cold water
  • 1 bottle Ranch dressing
  • 1/2 t. black pepper
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 lb. bacon, diced and cooked crisp
  • 1/2 head lettuce, diced

1. In a large bowl, toss together pasta, Ranch dressing and black pepper. Stir in tomatoes and bacon. Refrigerate until serving then stir in the lettuce until coated. Or, stir in the lettuce and serve immediately.

So fast, simple and good! This is definitely a great meal for the last few dog days of summer. It would also make a great side dish to take to an end of summer party.

  1. I do a taco pasta salad in the summer that has lettuce in it. Very good. This one looks yummy too and bacon is always a hit.

  2. Thanks for the idea! This is what we’re going to have for dinner tonight. Sounds perfect for a hot summer evening.

  3. I make something very similar with the exception being I use Miracle Whip and romaine lettuce so I can testify to both the beauty and great taste of this salad! By far my favorite pasta salad!

  4. Your pic of this salad is making me hungry! This is one of my favorite salads! I make something similar to this but I use a combination of mayo or Miracle whip along with the Ranch dressing.

    Thanks for sharing!

  5. Hey! Thanks for posting this recipe! I made it for my family even though we didn’t have any lettuce, and it was still good. My family loved it! Thanks!!

  6. I was just making my usual “blt” which is actually “bt” salad now so it can chill to go with buffalo chicken wraps tonight for dinner when I came across this recipe. I make mine just like this minus the lettuce and I add fresh chopped basil. I will be trying it with the lettuce tonight…that sounds and looks very good.

  7. This sounds really delicious and easy. I just stumbled upon your site and your recipes sound great! I made a BLT pasta salad courtesy of a well known food tv website, and it had a lot more ingredients but was probably not as good as the one posted here. I love ranch dressing, and think that would be a wonderful and easy way to flavor this rather than muddling it up with all kinds of crazy ingredients! Can’t wait to try it! (I’ve bookmarked your site too, BTW.) 😉
