Cookies are small values saved by your browser and sent back with relevant website requests. Local storage is a separate browser store used by some recipe tools. Not all browser storage is used for advertising or tracking.
Your privacy choices
Recipe tools work without optional analytics. You can allow or reject Google Analytics, Clicky, and recipe-interaction analytics here.
Optional analytics remain off until you choose. JavaScript is needed to change this setting.
Your choice uses a necessary cookie for 180 days (about six months). Withdrawing consent stops future optional tracking after this page reloads and removes matching cookies we can reach. It does not delete historical records or cookies on other websites. Global Privacy Control keeps optional analytics off.
You can read recipes and use the essential tools without accepting optional analytics. The choice applies to this browser, not automatically to other devices. An active Global Privacy Control signal keeps optional analytics off. Clearing browser data also clears your saved choice.
Necessary and requested features
- Privacy preference: the first-party
smcp_consentcookie remembers whether optional analytics is allowed for up to 180 days (about six months). - Recipe tools: local storage keeps saved recipes, recently viewed recipes, shopping selections, and cooking notes. These remain until you remove them or clear the browser’s storage.
- Polls: a random browser identifier and local reminders help prevent duplicate votes. The site stores hashed vote identifiers separately for up to 90 days.
- Security and administration: WordPress authentication/session cookies support authorized staff sign-in. Form verification and rate limits help protect submissions. Visitor registration is not currently offered.
Optional analytics
When analytics is allowed, Google Analytics, Clicky, and WP Recipe Maker can measure site or recipe use. Depending on the provider and its settings, cookies can include Google’s _ga family, Clicky identifiers, and WP Recipe Maker’s wprm_analytics_visitor. Cookie names and lifetimes can change with provider or browser updates.
WP Recipe Maker’s installed visitor-cookie code specifies an expiration in January 2038, although browser limits may shorten it. Its stored analytics records have a separate 90-day retention setting. Rejecting analytics prevents new analytics collection through the configured site controls; the preference tools also attempt to remove relevant first-party analytics cookies they can access.
Changing or withdrawing a choice
Use the controls on this page or return through the footer’s Cookies & Privacy Choices link. After rejection, a page reload stops scripts already loaded under a previous acceptance. The site cannot remove another domain’s cookies or retrieve information already sent to a provider. To remove saved cookies more broadly, use your browser’s privacy settings. To request deletion of server-side information, contact the administrator.
If JavaScript is disabled, optional analytics is not loaded by these controls. Browser settings can still manage stored cookies. Interactive recipe tools and the on-page preference buttons require JavaScript.
Advertising and external links
Mediavine ads are not currently enabled. These analytics controls are not an advertising consent-management platform and do not claim to set preferences for Mediavine or a retailer you visit through an outside link. If an advertising service is added, its provider-specific privacy information and functioning controls must be configured before it runs.
