Ingredients

barley

apple, peeled, cored and diced

cup
raisins

sliced green onions

each cinnamon, allspice, salt and pepper

chicken stock
Instructions
Add barley to a large skillet and toast over medium heat, stirring often, until lightly golden brown.
Stir in apples, raisins, green onions and seasonings. Add chicken stock. Bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce heat and simmer about 25 minutes, until liquid is absorbed and barley is tender.
