When I think of giving home-baked goodies as Christmas gifts, I tend to always think of sweets first. But this year, I’m trying to include some savory options as well.
This Walnut Rosemary Bread would make a beautiful gift. The bread bakes up tender and full of flavor, with a gorgeous golden brown crust. I think it would make a wonderful accompaniment to a jar of homemade soup mix.
Walnut Rosemary Bread
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1 tsp fresh rosemary or 1/2 t. dried rosemary
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Whisk eggs in a small bowl. Stir in sour cream and olive oil.
- In a large bowl, stir together the remaining ingredients. Pour in the wet ingredients and stir just until well combined.
- Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake at 375 degrees for 45 – 60 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then finish cooling on a wire rack.
