Our Summer In Pictures

Okay, I’ll admit things have been a little bit quiet around here. That’s because they’ve been a little quiet around the kitchen too. We’ve done what we could to make the most of our summer, even when that meant simple meals and lots of leftovers.

Two weeks until the kids go back to school and everything returns to some bit of normalcy. And with that, I hope to return to posting more than 2 recipes a week!

In the meantime, here’s a recap of our summer. It’s been wonderful!

Alex turned 7 and celebrated with a very special guest!

And he showed Darth Vadar who was boss.

He figured if he could take down Darth Vadar he could surely master his birthday present.

And his determination paid off.

The little girls practiced their modeling.

Jill learned that grass does NOT taste good.

Oh, and did I mention she also learned to sit, crawl and stand. First steps are just days away.

Isabelle spent hours practicing her photography skills.

Gracie learned the importance of keeping her eye on the ball.

The training wheels came off.

Alex rocked his annual summer mohawk.

Our favorite art festival is the highlight of every summer.

Isabelle served as Jill’s art festival mentor.

Gracie transformed into a butterfly.

So did Olivia.

Isabelle turned 12 and requested to spend her birthday at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

The whole family had a fantastic time!

Summer just wouldn’t be summer without our annual trip to zoo!

And that, my friends, pretty much sums up our summer. Back to recipes tomorrow!

How was your summer?
