National Chocolate Chip Day

Until I began my online life, I had no idea there were “national holidays” for nearly every single day of the year. Take the “national” out of the title and you more than triple the amount of daily celebrations. And food-based celebrations are right at the top of that list. Name a food, any food…chances are there is a day set aside just for honoring and celebrating that food.

While I just dismiss or laugh off 99.9% of those “special” days, chocolate chip day is one I can totally get behind. Because come on, it’s chocolate chips. What’s not to love about a day set aside just to honor those delicious little morsels?

Here are a few ideas to help you celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day on Saturday, May 15.

Start the morning with a chocolate chip love fest!

Chocolate Chip & Peanut Butter Muffins

Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

Chocolate Chip Breakfast Biscuits

Then serve up some chocolate chip goodness with a traditional cookie snack.

Loaded Banana Oatmeal Cookies

Double Chocolate Cookies

And then what’s left but to end the day with an indulgent chocolate chip dessert?

I realize it may take some arm twisting, but what do you say? Will you join my family and me in celebrating National Chocolate Chip Day on Saturday?
