I googled homemade donuts and your recipe was the first to come up so I tried it out for my son's birthday breakfast - fantastic! I was surprised at how easy they were and at how much such a small amount of dough made, they really puffed up. I made a few changes to make the donuts a bit healthier and they still tasted fantastic - I used 2 C whole wheat pastry flour instead of white flour, I used 1/4 C sucanat and 1/4 C white sugar instead of 1/2 C all white sugar, I used 2 tbsp. melted coconut oil instead of butter. I also mixed the flour, oil and milk together with about 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar the night before making them and left the mixture (covered) out on the counter to soak (that breaks down the anti-nutrients in the wheat), then added the remaining ingredients in the morning. I fried them in coconut oil and then rolled some in powdered sugar and some in cinnamon-sugar. Delish!!!
