I used to make from-scratch buttermilk pancakes for the whole family every saturday-starting when I was 6! Just learning the basics, and having a mom who let me experiment helped me be comfortable in the kitchen, and makes cooking a joy to me today, instead of the chore so many see it as. Wow! Your 5 year old cooks scrambled eggs? When did you start letting her at the stove top? I've been too nervous to let me daughter because she gets so distracted, I worry that her hand would slip and burn herself, but maybe now is the time (she's just over 4 1/2). I'm impressed! I think you're doing a great job. I think those are great goals for your sons!

I love that your kids not only love cooking alone and as a family, but that they have developed an important skill that will help Ithem in throughout their lives. I know how fun it is when they make a meal or part of a meal to help out.
