Beat the Heat – Slow Cooker Weekly Round Up

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

It’s so hottttttttt!!!

Turning on the oven makes the house hot, and grilling can be too hot, too.  This leaves the toaster and microwave, but who wants that? I figured I could put together a slow cooker (aka crockpot) meals weekly round up to help us beat the heat a few times this summer.

We all have our faves we rely on, but if it’s storming or too hot for even the pool, here are some new recipes to try that will fill you up and give some comfort at the same time.

Cheese & Shrimp on Grits via The Crockpot Recipe
Crockpot Pinto Beans via Salt & Pepper Moms to go with...
California Tamale Pie (Crockpot) Recipe
California Tamale Pie via Just a Pinch
vegetarian chili
Vegetarian Chili via Path to Wellness
Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes via Mostly Homemade Mom
Crab Dip via The Crockpot Recipe (again!)

Here are a few of my CDSM slow cooker recipes to try, too!:

Autumn Sausage
itailan chicken
Italian Chicken
country chicken
Country Chicken
pb pudding cake
Hot Fudge Peanut Butter Pudding Cake

Had to put the dessert in here, of course! :)

Let me know what your favorite crockpot meals are. Do you switch them around by season, or just use the same ones?

Love, love , love my crockpot in the summer.
Initially I just wanted to make carnitas, which take a long slow preparation, I decided to use a crockpot for the overnight preparation. I took it one step further and put the crockpot on the screened in porch. Great results, now I never use the crockpot in the house during the summer!!!
