It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of desserts. Just a quick look through my archives will show you how frequently I bake some desserty treat. So when I was approached with the opportunity to review a cake from Bake Me A Wish!, how could I say no? And this wasn’t just any cake – it’s a Triple Chocolate Enrobed Cake. Have you ever heard of anything more delicious?

bmaw-logo-153x173Bake Me A Wish! is the premium nationwide service for delivery of gourmet birthday cakes. Their cakes are absolutely delicious, bound to impress and are made with only the finest, freshest ingredients by an award-winning family run New York bakery that also supplies pastries to some of Manhattan’s most elite restaurants. The packaging is lovely and very high end.

Additionally, Bake Me A Wish! supports a great cause while providing something sweet for our troops –

“Operation: Birthday Cake”

5% of any cake order goes to Bake Me A Wish!’s Operation: Birthday Cake, which, together with their partner Soldiers’ Angels donates birthday cakes each month to soldiers overseas who are having a birthday.  As you can imagine it is a great morale booster to a soldier to be remembered on their birthday. Click here to see more on this sweet cause (I suggest grabbing some tissues.)

The presentation of the cake is just beautiful and would definitely impress any recipient. But the real treasure lays beyond the pretty packaging.

This is one serious cake! My husband and I decided to try it for ourselves first before sharing it with the kids. A litt unfair? Maybe…but we parents can never be too careful, right?

p7027934

So we sat down and dug in to the cake. YUM! Eric, who is my number 1 taste tester and most honest reviewer, finished his piece in record time. Then he quickly asked if there was any more. As he was eating his second piece, he said “how do they make it so dense and chocolately yet so moist at the same time?” Those are his exact words. It’s a great question too, because that is exactly how this cake tasted.

Now if all of the other cakes Bake Me A Wish! offers taste as good as this one, I could be in for some serious competition in the kitchen. Here are some of their other offerings:

tc_cakeAren’t you just dying to try this cake now? Well, I have some good news for you. Bake Me A Wish! has offered to send one of my readers their very own Triple Chocolate Enrobed Cake. Interested?

To enter, just leave a comment here on this post telling me which of the cakes offered by Bake Me A Wish! sounds the yummiest to you. (You can see all of their cakes here.) I’ll select the winner on Friday, July 10 at 10:00pm EST.

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!!

I just discovered your blog and I’m having fun checking out your recipes.

I’m a military wife and I love that they send birthday wishes to soldiers who are over there giving of their time and effort for our freedom. I have friends in Iraq now (luckily my husband is home for a while, he’s spent more time that I care to count over there)I may have to order a cake for them to share. It would be a much welcome treat.

Amazing blog–I found it just the other day, and I’m hooked. With your love of (and disappointment with) Taco Bell and cravings for foods “buffaloed,” you’re a woman after my own heart. Mexican Pizza and Buffalo Pasta will be in my menu plan soon–and I hope the triple chocolate cake will be, too!

One suggestion: my (former) passion at Taco Bell was the Beef Meximelts. When I was in high school, they were $.49! My best friend and I used to buy six for lunch. Last time I tried them (years and years ago!), they were really skimpy and more than a dollar apiece. I would love to re-create them, but I’m more of a recipe follower than a recipe creator. Please consider developing a Meximelt knockoff.

    Thanks!

  68. Susan
    July 8th, 2009 @ 5:48 pm

I believe I am actually drooling after looking at the yummy cake choices! My choice would have to be the vanilla bean cake.

  69. Amy
    July 9th, 2009 @ 4:22 pm

Yummy! How ’bout that Red Velvet cake? Or the Vanilla bean? Maybe the coconut? As we have 3 June bdays and 3 April bdays,I may get the opportunity to try 6 different cakes during those 2 months!
