I’m currently at my parents’ house with the kids for our traditional summer trip. Every time we are at my parents, my mom makes a special bakery run to pick up my all-time favorite breakfast – chocolate chip coffee cake.

I once thought I could re-create this recipe, but I gave that notion up quickly. I don’t believe this is possible to duplicate ever. Now, while I do make a pretty good chocolate chip coffee cake recipe, it will never compare to this one!

I suppose it’s a good thing we live 5 hours away from this bakery.

Chocolate chip coffee cake, the bakery version…definitely tummy tempting and delicious!
